Shots Taken/Mise-en-scene

The above video shows the shots we took for our poster. We thought that including a crucifix covered in blood would look intriguing as the enigma would make the viewers curious. I took pictures of the crucifix from different angles to see which shot would look the best. There were various types of shots used for example, close-ups, wide shot, high angle shot and an aeriel shot. These shots gave us a range of images to choose from to see which would look the most appealing.

We also decided to take more pictures but this time, with someone loosely holding the crucifix in their hand. We came up with this pose as we wanted to convey the enigma of the murder that had taken place in our narrative, as that was what the image was associated with. I took various shots from different angles to make the crucifix look like the anti-Christ, as we wanted to show the enigma of evil.

Use of Sound Effects

We used the above sound effect to include in our trailer to create fear and suspense. The sound effect was used in the background while the title of the film was shown. We chose to use this sound effect for that specific scene because when we researched real media texts, we saw that the possessed character would often be whispering. Therefore, taking inspiration from this, we chose to include the whispering effect while showing the title of the movie, to give the impression of the monstrous feminine from our narrative, whispering. We also used another sound effect of laughing, in the background of quite a few scenes, as this was another aspect we noticed in real media texts. Also, to make the scene more fearful, we chose to increase the volume of the scream to gain a reaction from the audience. In order to make the audience fear the antagonist, we chose to include this effect as we found at that that was another feature which scared our target audience. Furthermore, we also added the effect of a scream just before the title 'she's listening to you' appears on screen. We purposefully chose to do this as we wanted to emphasise that the monstrous feminine is aware of the fear and pain the characters go through, however, these actions will help her achieve her motive.
